Thing 1 and Thing 2!
Seven-week ultrasound this morning clearly showed two little dudes swimming away in there, and two happy little heartbeats. My mom has dubbed them Thing 1 and Thing 2, and I think I’ll go with that.
Thing 1 = 6w1d, heartbeat 103 bpm.
Thing 2 = 6w3d, heartbeat 115 bpm.
If you count by dates I am 7 weeks today, so these appear to be slightly slow growers. But as they are both similar in size RE feels they are just fine, and he said as long as the measurements are within a week he’s good with that. These were a little slow as embies too, only 6 cells each when we did the 3-day transfer. But they both stuck, so I think they are both strong and steady. I don’t need sprinters, marathon runners are just fine by me.
Here’s a pic with a slightly better likeness than the one above.
The main symptom I am feeling at this point is tiredness. Fatigue. Exhaustion really, I can barely hold myself up to type this. Tiny bits of nausea that fade momentarily. The bionic sniffer is still active, though without any jalapenos to torture me it really isn’t a big deal. Frequent cramps, pulling, tightening feelings. Similar to AF but lighter and quicker in duration. And I am back to my old insomniac ways. Damn I miss that Ambien!! I hear that may improve when I am off the estrogen patches and PIO.
Speaking of which, I am down to bloodwork only once a week instead of twice — woohooo! My arms will be so happy to hear that, the poor dears look like hamburger. And I need to find an OB. Don’t have one, don’t know one. Kinda freaked about it. Have received no guidance on if it should be a high-risk specialist (twins+i’m old=i think so). Eeek! I think I will email the local RE and ask for his suggestions.
Going to go do the PIO and then sleep, or try to, for at least 8 hours.
Good night little dudes, Thing 1 and Thing 2.
Oh, Kate, that is wonderful!! Congratulations!!

Yey – twins are so fun! I also had the “bionic sniffer” so I can sympathize. π
My OB sent me to a high-risk doctor because of it being twins; it was nice because we got to see them every 2 weeks!
Wishing you the best!
